The song "HOLD ME" that was on Y&R on 9-12-08 is here!

Hey folks - some fans really wanted to know who the singer of the song on Y&R's 9-12-08 episode was. It played in a scene when Amber and Daniel were about to kiss, (after she asked him to take her back) but her cell phone rang to interrupt the moment with a call from Liam.

It's Bill Cinque, who's voice has been heard many times on Y&R. The song is "HOLD ME" and it's available for download here: http://www.soapsongs.com/page/index.asp. In fact, Bill's on two other songs on the "Favorite Songs Heard on The Young and The Restless" CD that we offer on this site: http://www.soapsongs.com/page/cd_yar_vol01.asp. Check out "Together" and "Once In A Lifetime" - both sung by Bill Cinque.

Here are the words of the song:

"HOLD ME"
CHANGE OF HEART OR MAYBE JUST A CHANGE OF MIND
IT'S ALL VERY CLEAR AS I LAUGH THRU MY TEARS
I GUESS I'M NOT YOUR ONE OF A KIND

TURN THE PAGE THERE'S NOT ANOTHER WORD TO SAY
MY HAND HAS BEEN PLAYED BUT I WISH I COULD TRADE
TOMORROW FOR A YESTERDAY

WON'T YOU HOLD ME
WON'T YOU HOLD ME AGAIN
I KNOW YOU TOLD ME THIS IS NOW AND THAT WAS THEN
I'M NOT ASKING FOR A LIFETIME, ONLY FOR ONE LAST TIME
HOLD ME

SAY GOODBYE NO REASON NO RHYME
I'VE BEEN RUNNING IN PLACE BUT THAT LOOK ON YOUR FACE
TELLS ME I'VE JUST RUN OUT OF TIME
(c) 2007 Bill Cinque

The Song "IT'S OVER ALL OVER AGAIN" on Y&R 9/23/08

!

I've gotten so many email requests for the song that no one can find...but it's here at www.soapsongs.com/page/index.asp. It's a haunting song written by one of our best singer-songwriters Bill Cinque, who with his collaborator Dave Robyn wrote this song specifically for The Young and The Restless, and was featured near the end of the episode on September 23, 2008. They are a team who've written so many songs for Y&R, and some of them are on our CD compilation "Favorite Songs Heard On The Young and The Restless" (TOGETHER, and ONCE IN A LIFETIME, available at : www.soapsongs.com/page/cd_yar_vol01.asp)

But this particular song "IT'S OVER ALL OVER AGAIN", is available as a single song download on our site at: www.soapsongs.com/page/index.asp. It was in the final scenes on 9/23/08, at first when Amber and Billy were lying in bed talking about Kane, and in the final scene when Daniel was walking back towards the pictures of art he had sold to Billy.

Best to you, and keep in touch!

Today's song at the end of Bold and The Beautiful

That beautiful song many of your asked about (played at the end of today's Bold and the Beautiful) is called DESTINY, and guess what? It was composed by David Kurtz and Jack Allocco exclusively for the show, and is not "destined" to be available to the public, at least for now. David and Jack are the same wonderful composers that write for Young and The Restless. When are these shows going to make some of the composers' songs available to the fans?!!
Stay tuned,
Barbara

Songs on Various Episodes Identified!

Hello fellow soap watcher-listeners. I'm back!!! Sorry to have been away for so long, but there've been some big changes in my life, and I'm finding it challenging to continue with this blog. First of all, I'm not watching the soaps as much, so when your questions come in, I'm having to do some research with the music supervisors of the shows. So that's why it's taking me time to get back to you.
I've assembled some questions I've gotten, and will provide answers when I actually know the answers!

First question: What is the name of the song that Nikki and Victor (Y&R) danced to for their anniversary, but not sure...and then when he thought she was in the limo that crashed - he reminisced about her and that same song was playing.

Answer: The song is “Through the Eyes of Love” which is best known as the theme song in the movie ICE CASTLES recorded by Melissa Manchester.

Here's another question which I do NOT have the answer to:
Question: Do you know the song that they played on All My children when Aiden was saying goodbye to Greenlee on May 5, 2008 Hold Me Now? Are we Both Afraid is the first line.

Does anyone out there have the information on this song? If so, please email me at bjordan@soapsongs.com with the information. I'll be SO grateful!

Here's another Y&R question:

Question: Could you tell me the name of the song heard on May 22, 2008 and then again on July 21, 2008 as the background music when Victoria and Sabrina are at Crimson Light and are discussing Adam's mistake and then it was heard today again at Crimson Lights in the background when Sabrina and Victor are looking at sonogram of baby. The first lines are :
Waiting for you to turn the light off and to see if I needed anything else.
and it also has the lines..."seems like its never enough for you..waiting for you." I'd also like to know the singer and where this song can be purchased. Thanks for your help! I've search for the lyrics everywhere on the internet and cannot find it.

Answer: Okay, we got lots of emails on that one - and unfortunately, it's a song that's not available yet to the public, as Sony hasn't yet put up a website where you can download/purchase songs that the company owns the copyright to. In any case, the name of that beautiful song is "WAITING FOR YOU" and it's written by the 2 Y&R composers, David Kurtz and Jack Allocco, along with Monica Behan and Deron Johnson.

You can find other songs written and recorded by Monica Behan & Deron Johnson at the following website.
http://www.myspace.com/behanjohnson

Here's another Y&R question:
Question: I was wondering what is the tile and who performs the song on the young and the restless episode dated march 5th when Daniel carries Amber up the stairs, it's really catchy!!

Answer: Well, that "cue" is titled “Pucker” and was written by the Y&R composersThe cue is titled “Pucker” and was written by the Y&R composers. This is not available as a download at this time.

And yet another Y&R question:
Question: Hi guys -- what was the song Nia sung at the end of the show today (February 14, 2008)? Is it available for download or sale?

Answer: The song is "For All Time" written by the Y&R composer, and not yet available to the public.

And... on February 8th, 2008, I got this email question about a song on Y&R :

Question: What was that great song Amber sang...on camera...she's a nice singer! Does she have a CD? Where can we get the song?

Answer: That is an (Amber) Adrienne Frantz original song. The song is “Halfway” from her CD titled Anomaly. You can get her CD from iTunes or the following websites.

Okay, folks, that's all for now.
Stay tuned for more!

Jack Abbott's memories on Young and Restless to the song "On The Wings Of Yesterday" Thursday April 3, 2008

Jack Abbott says goodbye to his beloved home on April 3, 2008...to the tune of artist Bobby Sweet Jr.'s plantive song "On The Wings Of Yesterday" (available for download at http://www.soapsongs.com. You MUST check out Bobby Sweet if you want to hear one of the truly original singer-songwriters of our age. He's a sixth-generation musician who began performing at age 7 in his father's band. As a performer, Bobby has shared the bill with some of the top country and folk artists, including Vince Gill, Arlo Guthrie, and Pete Seeger.

Bobby's newest release "Days Roll By" has been receiving a lot of attention, including a full feature in Berkshire Living Magazine, and an honorable mention in the New York Songwriter's Circle's Songwriter's Contest. Listen to more of his music at his website http://www.bobbysweet.com and on Itunes.

Bobby's songs have been in many television shows and films, usually featured because he's got such a darned interesting voice and viewpoint!

Here are the words to the song:

ON THE WINGS OF YESTERDAY

(c) 2008 Bobby Sweet Jr.

Goodbye don't come easy
When it's time for moving on
I guess it's the memories
That's what makes a house a home

Through the tears and the laughter
These four walls held our lives
Filled to the rafters
With new beginnings and goodbyes

After all that we've been through
Part of me belongs to you
I am bound to fly away
On the wings of yesterday

It's not that I'm losing
But it's so hard to make a change
The hard part is choosing
To waive goodbye to what has been

After all that we've been through
Part of me belongs to you
I am bound to fly away
On the wings of yesterday

So I'll hold on to the memories
And all the good times we knew
Though I am left longing
I am more because of you

After all that we've been through
Part of me belongs to you
Tomorrow I will fly away
On the wings of yesterday
