Song on December 16 on Y&R at the end of the show

Several people emailed me about the pretty song at the end of December 16th's Y&R when Gloria was being booked, Adam was at the airport and the DA was looking out the window. It was a song by Michael Kisur called "Precious Time" and I believe you can download it from his website: www.michaelkisur.com

Best to all of you!

The song "HOLD ME" that was on Y&R on 9-12-08 is here!

Hey folks - some fans really wanted to know who the singer of the song on Y&R's 9-12-08 episode was. It played in a scene when Amber and Daniel were about to kiss, (after she asked him to take her back) but her cell phone rang to interrupt the moment with a call from Liam.

It's Bill Cinque, who's voice has been heard many times on Y&R. The song is "HOLD ME" and it's available for download here: http://www.soapsongs.com/page/index.asp. In fact, Bill's on two other songs on the "Favorite Songs Heard on The Young and The Restless" CD that we offer on this site: http://www.soapsongs.com/page/cd_yar_vol01.asp. Check out "Together" and "Once In A Lifetime" - both sung by Bill Cinque.

Here are the words of the song:

"HOLD ME"
CHANGE OF HEART OR MAYBE JUST A CHANGE OF MIND
IT'S ALL VERY CLEAR AS I LAUGH THRU MY TEARS
I GUESS I'M NOT YOUR ONE OF A KIND

TURN THE PAGE THERE'S NOT ANOTHER WORD TO SAY
MY HAND HAS BEEN PLAYED BUT I WISH I COULD TRADE
TOMORROW FOR A YESTERDAY

WON'T YOU HOLD ME
WON'T YOU HOLD ME AGAIN
I KNOW YOU TOLD ME THIS IS NOW AND THAT WAS THEN
I'M NOT ASKING FOR A LIFETIME, ONLY FOR ONE LAST TIME
HOLD ME

SAY GOODBYE NO REASON NO RHYME
I'VE BEEN RUNNING IN PLACE BUT THAT LOOK ON YOUR FACE
TELLS ME I'VE JUST RUN OUT OF TIME
(c) 2007 Bill Cinque

.

The Song "IT'S OVER ALL OVER AGAIN" on Y&R 9/23/08

!

I've gotten so many email requests for the song that no one can find...but it's here at www.soapsongs.com/page/index.asp. It's a haunting song written by one of our best singer-songwriters Bill Cinque, who with his collaborator Dave Robyn wrote this song specifically for The Young and The Restless, and was featured near the end of the episode on September 23, 2008. They are a team who've written so many songs for Y&R, and some of them are on our CD compilation "Favorite Songs Heard On The Young and The Restless" (TOGETHER, and ONCE IN A LIFETIME, available at : www.soapsongs.com/page/cd_yar_vol01.asp)

But this particular song "IT'S OVER ALL OVER AGAIN", is available as a single song download on our site at: www.soapsongs.com/page/index.asp. It was in the final scenes on 9/23/08, at first when Amber and Billy were lying in bed talking about Kane, and in the final scene when Daniel was walking back towards the pictures of art he had sold to Billy.

Best to you, and keep in touch!

Today's song at the end of Bold and The Beautiful

That beautiful song many of your asked about (played at the end of today's Bold and the Beautiful) is called DESTINY, and guess what? It was composed by David Kurtz and Jack Allocco exclusively for the show, and is not "destined" to be available to the public, at least for now. David and Jack are the same wonderful composers that write for Young and The Restless. When are these shows going to make some of the composers' songs available to the fans?!!
Stay tuned,
Barbara

Songs on Various Episodes Identified!

Hello fellow soap watcher-listeners. I'm back!!! Sorry to have been away for so long, but there've been some big changes in my life, and I'm finding it challenging to continue with this blog. First of all, I'm not watching the soaps as much, so when your questions come in, I'm having to do some research with the music supervisors of the shows. So that's why it's taking me time to get back to you.
I've assembled some questions I've gotten, and will provide answers when I actually know the answers!

First question: What is the name of the song that Nikki and Victor (Y&R) danced to for their anniversary, but not sure...and then when he thought she was in the limo that crashed - he reminisced about her and that same song was playing.

Answer: The song is “Through the Eyes of Love” which is best known as the theme song in the movie ICE CASTLES recorded by Melissa Manchester.

Here's another question which I do NOT have the answer to:
Question: Do you know the song that they played on All My children when Aiden was saying goodbye to Greenlee on May 5, 2008 Hold Me Now? Are we Both Afraid is the first line.

Does anyone out there have the information on this song? If so, please email me at bjordan@soapsongs.com with the information. I'll be SO grateful!

Here's another Y&R question:

Question: Could you tell me the name of the song heard on May 22, 2008 and then again on July 21, 2008 as the background music when Victoria and Sabrina are at Crimson Light and are discussing Adam's mistake and then it was heard today again at Crimson Lights in the background when Sabrina and Victor are looking at sonogram of baby. The first lines are :
Waiting for you to turn the light off and to see if I needed anything else.
and it also has the lines..."seems like its never enough for you..waiting for you." I'd also like to know the singer and where this song can be purchased. Thanks for your help! I've search for the lyrics everywhere on the internet and cannot find it.

Answer: Okay, we got lots of emails on that one - and unfortunately, it's a song that's not available yet to the public, as Sony hasn't yet put up a website where you can download/purchase songs that the company owns the copyright to. In any case, the name of that beautiful song is "WAITING FOR YOU" and it's written by the 2 Y&R composers, David Kurtz and Jack Allocco, along with Monica Behan and Deron Johnson.

You can find other songs written and recorded by Monica Behan & Deron Johnson at the following website.
http://www.myspace.com/behanjohnson

Here's another Y&R question:
Question: I was wondering what is the tile and who performs the song on the young and the restless episode dated march 5th when Daniel carries Amber up the stairs, it's really catchy!!

Answer: Well, that "cue" is titled “Pucker” and was written by the Y&R composersThe cue is titled “Pucker” and was written by the Y&R composers. This is not available as a download at this time.

And yet another Y&R question:
Question: Hi guys -- what was the song Nia sung at the end of the show today (February 14, 2008)? Is it available for download or sale?

Answer: The song is "For All Time" written by the Y&R composer, and not yet available to the public.

And... on February 8th, 2008, I got this email question about a song on Y&R :

Question: What was that great song Amber sang...on camera...she's a nice singer! Does she have a CD? Where can we get the song?

Answer: That is an (Amber) Adrienne Frantz original song. The song is “Halfway” from her CD titled Anomaly. You can get her CD from iTunes or the following websites.

Okay, folks, that's all for now.
Stay tuned for more!

Jack Abbott's memories on Young and Restless to the song "On The Wings Of Yesterday" Thursday April 3, 2008

Jack Abbott says goodbye to his beloved home on April 3, 2008...to the tune of artist Bobby Sweet Jr.'s plantive song "On The Wings Of Yesterday" (available for download at http://www.soapsongs.com. You MUST check out Bobby Sweet if you want to hear one of the truly original singer-songwriters of our age. He's a sixth-generation musician who began performing at age 7 in his father's band. As a performer, Bobby has shared the bill with some of the top country and folk artists, including Vince Gill, Arlo Guthrie, and Pete Seeger.

Bobby's newest release "Days Roll By" has been receiving a lot of attention, including a full feature in Berkshire Living Magazine, and an honorable mention in the New York Songwriter's Circle's Songwriter's Contest. Listen to more of his music at his website http://www.bobbysweet.com and on Itunes.

Bobby's songs have been in many television shows and films, usually featured because he's got such a darned interesting voice and viewpoint!

Here are the words to the song:

ON THE WINGS OF YESTERDAY

(c) 2008 Bobby Sweet Jr.

Goodbye don't come easy
When it's time for moving on
I guess it's the memories
That's what makes a house a home

Through the tears and the laughter
These four walls held our lives
Filled to the rafters
With new beginnings and goodbyes

After all that we've been through
Part of me belongs to you
I am bound to fly away
On the wings of yesterday

It's not that I'm losing
But it's so hard to make a change
The hard part is choosing
To waive goodbye to what has been

After all that we've been through
Part of me belongs to you
I am bound to fly away
On the wings of yesterday

So I'll hold on to the memories
And all the good times we knew
Though I am left longing
I am more because of you

After all that we've been through
Part of me belongs to you
Tomorrow I will fly away
On the wings of yesterday

The Song "I Say Love" from The Young and The Restless' 12/27/07 episode is finally available!

A fan sent Soapsongs.com an email at the end of last year asking about the name of the song playing on 12/26/07's Y&R while Amber closes Crimson Lights down for the night. It was a beautiful evocation of the love she was feeling that just wasn't being reciprocated.

Well, that song, "I Say Love", is written and sung by one of my favorite Boston-based singer-songwriters -- Todd Thibaud. You can listen to many of his songs on Itunes or his own site. You'll be glad you did.

But in the meantime, this song of his that was on Young and the Restless (I Say Love) is only available at the moment at Soapsongs.com, and we finally have the rights to offer it as an mp3 download. Go for it! We've had lots of fans asking about it since that day, so take a listen at www.soapsongs.com

Here are the words - magnificent, aren't they?

I SAY LOVE ((c) 2007 Todd Thibaud

Well the path is clear, it starts right here, I see it every morning

And with every step I feel the pull of all that lies before me

So the road is long and sometimes hard but I don't even falter

See not everyone that's been in Love is waiting on the altar

I say Love when it's easy, I say Love when it's hard

I say Love's the only reason, I can open up my heart

And if Love is not the answer, I don't understand the question

If Love is not the future, I'll take a new direction

I say Love

Well a poor man lies awake at night, worrying 'bout tomorrow

And rich man knows the perfect life is just something he can borrow

But a man with Love he don't need luck, never even wonders

He sees truth in every heart and doesn't fret the thunder

I say Love when it's easy, I say Love when it's hard

I say Love's the only reason, I can open up my heart

And if Love is not the answer, I don't understand the question

If Love is not the future, man I'll take a new direction

I say Love

And out here on your own

Love can bring you home
Well it's nothing new it's been around, one for all the ages

And if it's just an open book, well maybe we're the pages

I say Love when it's easy, I say Love when it's hard

I say Love's the only reason, I can open up my heart

And if Love is not the answer, I don't understand the question

If Love is not the future, man I'll take a new direction

If Love is not the future, man I'll take a new direction

If Love is not the future, man I'll take a new direction

I say Love

I say Love

The song "Automatic" at Daniel's house party on 2/8/08

Many of you asked what that great song was at the out-of-control party at Daniel and Amber's apartment on 2/8/08 on The Young and The Restless. They hooked up that night too, if you remember....

The song is "AUTOMATIC" by amazing singer-songwriter Jake Zavracky of The Cyanide Valentine. You can download this song at www.soapsongs.com.

Listen to Cyanide Valentine at : http://www.cyanidevalentine.com/

I met Jake in Boston a few years ago and was awed by his music. He's a superstar waiting to happen, and if you listen to his music and agree with me, let me know, ok?
More later..

French Song in Lily-Cane Parisian lovemaking scene on Young and Restless today

Ah, Lily and Cane finally make love on Valentine's Day on The Young and The Restless, to one our exclusive songs, JE SUIS HEUREUSE, which is available for download (probably by later today or tomorrow, so check back later today!) at the only site we know of for finding those really hard-to-find song gems you've heard on the shows!

It was a big moment for all the Lily-Cane (LANE) fans..Lily arranges for Cane to come upstairs, where she's decked out the room in French memorabilia and says "Welcome to Paris, and and then she says "I want you" in French...which is followed by her revealing her black and pink lingerie...and soon his shirt is off and they're in bed with each other - tres romantique!

The lovely French song you hear is is by Antje Zumbansen and Jack Perricone. Here is a photo of the sultry singer-songwriter Antje, whom we will tell you more about after we've uploaded the song for you! By the way, you've heard her songs before in several key montages on Y&R.

Here is the lyric translated into English, and then in French below it:

I am Happy

It’s a day, a day in May
The weather is magnificent
The sky is blue
The clouds are white
And me, I am Happy

The birds in the trees
They sing a melody for me
I want to dance
And embrace the whole world

The birds in the trees
The sing a song for me
They sing a song so sweet, a song for us, a love song
And I am happy

But sometimes I remember my lonely times,
the sad times of my life,
My life with no light
But now at this moment I feel so good
I am so sure
And I wish that this moment would last forever
I want to sing

(c) 2007 Antje Zumbansen and Jack Perricone

Je Suis Heureuse

C’est un jour, un jour de May
Le temps est magnifique
Le ciel est bleu
Les nuages sont blanches
Et moi je suis heureuse

Chorus:
Les oiseaux dans les arbres
Ils chantent une melodie pour moi
Je voudrais danser
Voudrais embrasser tout le monde
Les oiseaux dans les arbres
Ils chantent une chanson tres douce
Une chanson pour nous
chanson d’amour

(c) 2007 Antje Zumbansen and Jack Perricone

J.T. - Victoria Wedding Night Song on Young and Restless February 8 end of show

Yes, that fabulously romantic song in today's montage at the end of the Young and The Restless is available at Soapsongs.com. JT and Victoria's wedding night, also David and Nikki...and sad Victor!
It's by singer-songwriter Todd Herzog, and it's called "All I'm Sure Of Is You".
You can find it at our www.soapsongs.com website for immediate download. Enjoy!

Here is the beautiful lyric:

ALL I'M SURE OF IS YOU
(c) 2007 Todd Herzong

As the darkness grows
I can see your light still burning
I stand like a stone
And still the earth is turning

It’s hard to say forever
Time changes everything but
I know we’ll face whatever
tomorrow brings

In the eye of the storm
Under the burden of proof
I’ve gone searching for the truth
In the dead of the night
In the thick of it all
In this uncertain world
All I’m sure of is you

When I’m feeling afraid
You put your arms around me
Troubles get lifted away
When your love surrounds me

When I’m losing faith
You help me keep believing
When I’m blinded by pain
You help me see

In the eye of the storm
Under the burden of proof
I’ve gone searching for the truth
In the dead of the night
In the thick of it all
In this uncertain world
All I’m sure of is you

You are my strength
You are my heaven
You are all that is left
Of my innocence

In the eye of the storm
Under the burden of proof
I’ve gone searching for the truth
In the dead of the night
In the thick of it all
In this uncertain world
All I’m sure of is you

Fan Question about Lily-Cane Song "No Hurry" at Divorce Party

Last week I got a question from a fan about a song that was played during the last scene of the divorce party when Cane and Lily were talking at the piano. It's a song called "No Hurry", by singer-songwriter E'layne -- a retro 80's soul song with a Macy Gray sound -- and is written by Elaine Richardson and her co-writer Larry Marcus. I believe the song aired on 9/18/07. It is now exclusively available for download at http://www.soapsongs.com/!

Today's song at the end of Young and The Restless

Today's Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - like song featured at the close of The Young and The Restless is "I'LL TAKE YOUR LOVE WITH ME" -- and it's available for download at www.michaelkisur.com.
Michael wrote this song about 8 years ago at the request of his publisher for the Soap Opera One Life To Live, but it was not used until Young and The Restless discovered it last year. It has been since used a number of times on this show.

A short and dreamy lyric makes this song useful for a lot of scenes on television:

I'LL TAKE YOUR LOVE WITH ME

I'll take your love with me

Everything's ok, it's alright

And when you go to sleep

See me on my way, I'm alright

O please remember these words I say to you

It's a far better place I'm going to

I'll take your smile with me

Everything's ok, it's alright

And when you think of me

See me laugh and play, I'm alright

O please remember these words I say to you

It's a far better place I'm going to

"Never Ending" is the song on Dec. 26th on Y&R everyone's asking about

The Fisher song "NEVER ENDING" was the moving montage song at the end of December 26th The Young and The Restless, and it's available for purchase at our website www.soapsongs.com, so make sure you visit the site to get the song via email.

Fisher's music has been heard on so many of your favorite television shows and on countless advertisements on national television. Her unique and sensual voice has also been in tons of movies. She was the first artist signed to a record label based on the response from fans to her music on the Web. Fisher is a unique voice and a major talent, and you can learn more about what she's up to these days at her website: www.fishertheband.com

Fisher wrote this song for Young and The Restless and we at Soapsongs.com have had a very special relationship with Fisher and some of her songs for over a decade. I love Fisher and her husband Ron more than I can say, because not only do they make such beautiful music together, but they are two of the most grateful and loving people I have ever met in the music industry. I could not have gone on at times without their support of what I've been trying to do in the world of film and television music. They are like music angels. And Fisher certain has the voice of one.
